Note on Amazon US Oct 2026: Amazon is having some sort of glitch with free books. It seems to be limited to Amazon.com in the US. I’ve contacted them about getting Killing at the Carnival’s price back to free there, but it’s an Amazon issue, so there isn’t much I can do directly. I have it set so it’s $.99 if it isn’t free, but if you’d like to get it free, Smashwords has DRM free ebooks and good instructions to sideload it to (copy it directly onto) your Kindle. If you’d like an online reader, Bookshop.org has a nice one. Hopefully, it will be fixed on Amazon soon.
